Třeboň

Surrounded with the beautiful landscape, Trebon is one of the very inte-resting towns in the southern part of the Czech Republic. Many visitors come every year and enjoy its original charm. The name Wittingau and Wittigenove was already used like the name of the town in 1341, the name Trebon is existing since 1366. Under the reign of Rozmberks, in 16th and 17th century, the town gained a great prosperity. Between 1660 and the beginning of 20th century was the town in possession of the dynasty Schwarzenberg. Trebon is also a well-known spa.

The town is situated in the heart of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Permanent exhibition and visitors centre Třeboňsko - landscape and people acquaints visitors with the main attractions of our region in a popular form. You´ll get to know the history, as well as many interesting technical details, of fishpond construction and management. You´ll also recognize something about schwarzenberg economic system, history of spa in Třeboň and the big room shows you the Třeboň nature. In the video room you can see films both about the nature and history of our landscape.

Třeboň castle

The castle of Třeboň is one of the biggest castle complexes in Czech republic. There are three visitor routes: (A) Renaissance interriors of the Rosenbergs, (B) Private life of the Schwarzenbergs to the end of the 19th century and (C) Dogkitchen and underground prison, horse stables.

The Tomb of the Schwarzenberg house
